Jacob is very experienced and care for my needs. He examined my hair condition carefully and then came up with a plan for me specifically to reach what I want for my hair. Shan is so sweet and cheerful! The shampoo and hair mask trial she gave me was very good. Her presence definitely made my over four hours keratin treatment more enjoyable! Much appreciated!

I have had two haircuts at Jacob's Hair, and I have had nothing but positive things to say. Jacob and his wife Shan took great care of me when I went in for a men's cut, ensuring that my hair was gently washed before listening to my requests very carefully for the cut itself. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted the first time I went in, and Jacob was able to give me realistic expectations for what my hair was capable of, as well as practical care/maintenance techniques at home. The pair are very happy to converse with you on pretty much anything, but they also don't force you to talk to them. Don't let the business's exterior deter you from getting a great haircut from Jacob and Shan!

I wholeheartedly agree with all the glowing reviews — Jacob and Shan are truly a cut above. I’ve had my hair done in Melbourne, Strasbourg, Stuttgart, and Mauritius, and this husband-and-wife team stands out for both skill and care. Because their salon is small and works by online appointment only, the experience feels wonderfully personal. Once you’re there, their attention is entirely on you — no phone interruptions, no walk-ins, no rushing. That alone is a rare luxury. A special mention must go to the hair-washing experience: reclining on their sofa with absolutely no neck adjustment needed, perfectly supported and deeply comfortable. I’ve honestly never experienced anything like it before. Practical details matter too — having on-site customer parking that easily fits two large cars is such a bonus along busy Blackburn Road. As someone whose hair strands have become finer with age, I was particularly impressed by Jacob’s precision. He sculpted long layers that gave my hair real volume while keeping it light and elegant — a result that takes both experience and sensitivity. And finally, something my old hair scalp and I usually dread: the drying phase. I don’t enjoy it at all — yet with Shan’s expertise and excellent tools, there was no pulling, no burning sensation, hardly any noise. It was so gentle and comfortable that I could genuinely relax. This salon delivers not just great hair, but a thoughtful, calm, and deeply professional experience. Jacob and Shan clearly care about what they do — and it shows in every detail.

Jacob is a fantastic hairdresser, with amazing skills and attention to detail. The pixie cut was probably the best I had so far. Jacob is very attentive and really cares about his customer's being happy with their haircut. The great reviews he gets are well deserved. Both him and his wife and partner in the salon are very lovely. Highly recommended.
